What is the process for ordering wedding invitations?
You will start by setting up a free consultation to look through our many invitation albums with the assistance of an invitation consultant who will discuss your needs, style, budget and more. Please feel free to bring any pictures, ideas, designs, etc. that may serve as an inspiration for your stationery.
If you find a customizable invitation out of one of our invitation albums, we will work with you on wording and other options to get your order placed. With our invitation albums, you will receive PDF proofs of your invitation laid out. Make sure to look over your proof carefully to ensure that all of the details are correct. Once your order comes in, you will be able to pick it up in the store and get your invitations out in the mail!
If you choose an in-house custom design you will meet with us to discuss all of the specifics including colors, papers, graphics, etc. When you place your order, there is a 50% deposit due. The other 50% will be due upon completion of your order.We will then provide you with up to 2 actual mock-up proofs as well as 2 PDF proofs to ensure that you are completely happy with how your invitation looks and feels.
Once you have approved your proof, we will be hard at work printing, producing and assembling your invitation. If you choose to come in for an Invite Yourself Assembly Party, we will schedule this 3 weeks out from your proof approval.
What kind of a timeline do you need for my invitation order?
We can typically work within any time frame to provide you with invitations for your event, however, your options become more limited and rush fees may start to apply with quicker turn-around times.
We would recommend ordering within the following timeframes:
For Save the Date cards, you will want to order those 7-12 months before your wedding date depending on how early you would like to send them out. Typically people mail Save the Date cards out about 6 months prior to their wedding date unless the wedding is a destination wedding or over a holiday weekend in which case you will want to let people know as soon as possible. Turn around times for save the dates are generally 1-3 weeks.
For Invitations, you will want to meet with us at least 4-6 months before your event day if possible. (Earlier is fine too!) For custom invitations, the design process can take between 1 week to 1 month depending on how quickly you are able to provide us with information such as locations, times, etc. Typically once you have signed off on your final proof you will have your invitations within 3 weeks unless we have discussed a different time frame up front. For invitation orders out of albums, you can expect a PDF proof with 1 week and your order to arrive within 3 weeks of proof approval. Wedding and special event invitations typically get mailed out 8-10 weeks prior to the event.
For Programs and other Stationery, we will want to start designing these pieces around 4 weeks prior to your event date. We will need the final text at least 2 weeks prior to the due date in order to provide you with all of your stationery 1 week before your event.
How much does it cost?
We offer a wide variety of styles at different budget levels. Invitation Albums will generally range from 3.00 - 12.00 per ensemble (invitation, response card and envelopes). Generally, the higher the price point, the more customization options will be available. Custom invitations, by nature, can vary in cost a great deal. If you are wanting a custom design you should expect to spend between 6.00 - 18.00 per ensemble. Price per ensemble does go up if you are ordering only 25 or 50 and will go down if you are ordering over 150 invitations.

We have implemented an extensive recycling program at the store and have worked hard to find a good selection of eco-friendly paper options as well as invitation albums that offer soy based ink, cotton or 100% recycled paper.
